MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Pegs on body for hood, am I just being dumb?
Evening all Had a go at fitting the hood to the project sprite, 1970 mk iv. have a collection of pegs etc removed many years ago. I am talking about the raised metal lip that runs around the rear of the cockpit. when I fit the hard plastic trim over that I cant see how I can then get to the back of the pegs to fit the nut on to them. Am I going about this all wrong or is there some method to refitting them that is evading me? any help greatly appreciated as ever. Mark, damn near ready for mot, Adams |

Hi, Mark. Mine's a '78, but I think the design is the same. I think you'll need to lift the forward edge of the plastic trim slightly to slip a spanner in. Ignore if irrelevant, but that's what I seem to remember. -:G:- |

Thanks Gryf That may well be right, but my plastic trim is way to inflexible to do that. It may have become like that due to being stored for so long I suppose. Mark |

Gryf is correct, the trim should be just flexible enough to lift the inside edge and postion the nuts inside for the studs and snaps. If yours is old try warming it a bit with hot water to make it more flexible. |

Thanks fellas, will give it a go at the weekend. |
