MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Please help to ID engine
Hi all, All I am trying to ID an a series engine that I bought in a job lot a long time ago. It is painted gold (maybe a gold seal engine?). The numbers I can find on the engine are as follows: 950 in large numbers on the tappet cover side near the front of engine. 2A799 and below this is RMC 21D87-12 on the tappet cover side at the back of the engine. If anyone can shed some light on what this engine is and what vehicle it is from, I would be very much appreciate it. I currently have a Morris Minor Pickup, MG midget and Moggy saloon, so am interested if it is worth keeping as a spare for later use. Many thanks Matt |

it's 948cc so unless any of your stable are particularly early models and you want to keep them standard it's not really worth having; upgrades to 1098 or 1275cc seem preferred. |
