MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Poly ARB Bushes
Slowly working through the car, replacing the recycled flip-flop rubber bushes with polyurethane. The rubber anti-roll bar bushes had a split in them so that you could fit them over the bar. The poly do not, they are solid. Do I have to cut them to get them in place or am I missing something? I can't see how they will ever fit over the end of the bar. Thanks everyone. Malc. |

My blue polybushes have the slit in them for fitting over the bar. |

mine also have a split in them. Though they were quite tough and stuck together along the cut line |

Just been mooching on Moss. It seems some do, some don't, some at the bottom, some at the side. https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/shop-by-model/mg/midget/performance-tuning/steering-suspension/front-anti-roll-bar-bushes-mountings.html Slit it is. It's the only way I am going to get them assembled! |

Won't they slide on from the end of the bar with a bit of lubricant to help? |
GuyW |
No, I tried. The flat section at the end is too wide and the bushes too stiff. I sliced them with a Stanley knife where the old rubber bushes were split (the bottom). Is there a way to make sure it is centred? I was going to drive it tomorrow to get it to settle in before putting the lateral end stops on. |

You can usually judge the centering pretty accurately by comparing the angle of the two drop links. |
GuyW |
drive it without the end stops on for a bit, not too hard, that'll centre it. |

What Rob said. We went through the exact same scenario with my mates TR6. |

Top banana. Thanks folks. |
