MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Problem after Gearbox removal

I have a 1973 MG midget 1275. Damask Red called Rosa.

I recently swapped out the Gearbox due to issues with old one with synchros. After much cursing and gnashing of teeth everything went back in without issue.
A month after it going in, I got a noise from the clutch when it engaged and I could feel pressure on on the clutch pedal. I took a look this weekend ad when the car started I was unable to reproduce the problem but after a short while it started up again.
My thinking is the pin that holds one side of the Release bearing either snapped or was not secure.
Any other suggestions and if it is that, can you secure these through the two bung holes.
After the last removal of the engine, I really don't want to go through that in a hurry.
Thanks,

Allan

Allan, I'm not 100% certain but you should be able to get a bolt through there without pulling everything out again.

Others will either confirm or tell me I'm full of bovine excrement. Hopefully they'll be able to confirm!
