MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Radiator
Hi, Can anyone tell me a simple way of telling if my rediator is a vertical or horizontal flow . Its on a 72 mk111 midget. Also, is there anybody here going on the MG run this Sunday from Beamish Hall ? Regards Gary |

It should be a crossflow on a 72 and have a separate expansion tank . Vertical flow has a large tank on top with a radiator cap on it |

Gary, for a '72 it should be a cross-flow (horizontal) rad with a separate metal expansion tank to the side with a 15psi cap on the expansion tank. The vertical rad has a filler funnel as part of the rad that comes out the back of the top of the rad and has a 7psi cap on the filler funnel. see here for example - http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/shop-by-model/mg/midget/cooling-system/radiators-hoses-fittings/radiators-hoses-fittings-1275cc.html ETA: sorry I missed Mike's post so you've got it in stereo, or echo |

You can also pull up moss.com and look at the parts catologe they have really good exploded illistrations of all the parts of the car and can easily see the differances from part to part |
