MG Midget and Sprite Technical - radiator dimensions
Im building a car with a 1275 A series from a midget, I have limited space for a radiator- can anyone out there give me dimensions for a 1275 crossflow radiator, before I order one, and find it is too big? many thanks Ben |

The width is 17.25 inches but its waddy wonk, so the over all is 17.75 as near as I could tell, the heigth is just under 11 inches...I think 10.75, the thickiness is 2.25 inches....Im going from memory, if you need it exact, I can measure it up agian and get back to you in a couple hours if you use the rad shroud from a 1500 you can save an inch...it dosnt sound like much but its alot when you consider you only got 1/2 inch between the stock fan and engine side of the rad. If your going to have one made try ron davis...I just got a quote from him last week...$695 taxes and shipping included its aluminum and an exact copy of the 1275 cross flow...with the exchange rate in your favor. thats not a bad price....But you cant install an electric fan on ron daveis rads...not enough room, But Im guessing if you use the 1500, it might squese in. I just got a custom double pass aluminum rad ordered yesterday Prop http://www.rondavisradiators.com/Welcome.htm |

Thanks Prop, looks like it will fit fine- Cheers for the fast response. This is for a Lotus xi, Im putting together a replica on an accurate replacement chassis (rather than going the westfield xi route). Engine wise, this is 1275 midget (at the moment), as I cant justify spending 10K on a climax! cheers Ben |
