MG Midget and Sprite Technical - rear brake shoe springs
Rear brakes on Mk2 2 Sprite (same as Frogeye) - there are two long springs that connect the brake shoes together plus two small springs that go through the brake shoes and clip into the back plate. One of the small ones is broken, not sure exactly what their purpose is but will the brakes work ok until I get a replacement? Thanks Les |

Two long springs essential. I've never seen the short ones on a midget (seen them on others, e.g. Spit...); so not essential. A |

I had to ponder that for a moment Ant, I too have never seen the spring on a Spridget but have seen plenty on others I wouldn't worry too much about them |

Springs definately there, only used with single acting piston though. Will replace it but will be using car before I can get round to doing it. Les |
