MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Rear Breaks Backplate?
In the process of rebuilding a complete axle and found one of the backplates is very bent. I am replacing all the parts however I cant seem to find anywhere that sells the backplates? Does anyone know where I can get one from? |

I believe thats one of the few parts you cannot buy new these days, but there are plenty of people who might have some good used ones to sell, such as David Smith or Max Tyler, I am sure they will post soon. Ian |

That was my conclusion so second hand it is then I will just wait to see who has a spare or two in their shed. |

Which side? |

Also, what year is it? Quarter or semi elliptic? On semi-elliptic, the roll-pin for the wheel cylinder is in a different place depending on which year it is, although it should be possible to alter it. |

It is a 1500 car although the axle came from a 1275 so might be easier changing both backplates to 1500 ones if they are different? Need the drivers side. |

just popped outside - lovely sunny day and the sun is shining on a complete 1500 axle; can strip the plates off at the weekend - email midget1380 at btinternet dot com if of use... (and thanks for the plug Ian) |
