MG Midget and Sprite Technical - remote slave cylinder fitting
Hi Guys, I have had trouble disengaging clutch, I blead the slave the other day, and that fixed it for a while, took it out yesterday same problem again, on my last thread about this, someone mentioned a remote system to bleed the slave as it is difficult to get to, what does this consist of and how do you fit one? any info on this would be a help! cheers Jack. |

basically you remove the bleed nipple from the slave cyl, screw in a pipe about 30cm long and fit the bleed nipple to the other end. Mount it on a bracket at the top of the bell housing or the edge of the heater tray. You can buy the flexi pipe from Peter May. |

hi jack, if your having trouble with the clutch it may be worth trying to bleed it by undoing the cluth pipe union where it connects to the MASTER CYCLINDER and bleeding it from there in the same way as you would from the slave cylinder, I.E tighten and loosen as you depress the clutch pedel. you may be surprised by how much air appears to be there |

Thanks Dave, and D Kent, Ive got the car jacked up at present, so I'll have a look at both options. cheers Jack. |

I forgot what model you midget is but I made up a remote bleeder for my clutch much as David described. I used some braided Teflon line to prevent any problems with cracking due to vibration and mounted the bleeder near the clutch master cylinder. I use a vacuum type bleeder and have no problems getting all the air out of the system without having to get under the car.
