MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Restoration Gan6 - question oil pressure pipe

Restoring a 1976 car but have forgotten the correct lie of the oil pressure pipe from the engine to gauge. Anyone got a picture of the correct route? Also where does the bonnet cable lie also?

Oil pressure pipe? My 78 doesn't have a gauge; just a light. Will look at release cable today.
Dave Squire (1500)

Earlier 1500's continued to use the dual mechanical gauge Dave.

Later cars use the "triumph" styled gauges and the oil pressure gauge was deleted in favour of an "idiot" light in the speedo. At the same time the temp gauge went to electric operation.

Managed to find an oil gauge from a late TR6 which matches the other gauges for my car, essential bit of kit as the 1500 is notorious for having oil pressure issues.

Right, my 1500 is one of those later midgets, and I used a T-fitting at the pressure sensor port to run a tube to an oil pressure gauges. Works like a charm, so now I've got both a gauge and the idiot light. Meaning, if the light comes on I'm an idiot for not watching the gauge...

Unfortunately, I can't answer the original question; I'm not sure how the pressure tube was routed through the bulkhead on the earlier cars.

In the trade we always say that oil pressure warning lamp should have a pound sign on it, because when that comes it's usually too late and it's costing money!

I have identified that it goes through the smallest of the three holes to left of battery looking backwards. It drops down near the coil but I would love to see where it lies where it joins the flexible pipe that goes to the engine.

Anyone under the bonnet with a camera?

i have a pic of an unrestored original engine bay
