MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Rev counter fuse
Anyone ever come across the rev counter fuse blowing. Not instantly, but a few minutes of engine running ? |

I can't remember which model you have. What makes you call it the rev counter fuse, surely other items also won't be working off that fuse. Fuses don't blow as such, they melt from being overheated, they can melt extremely fast on "a short" or very large overload, or melt more slowly from a more gradual overheating. You must find the source of the problem or you'll keep blowing fuses and possibly worse. Others may not need it(?) but I think more info is required. |

Yes, definitely more info required. The rev counter takes its power from the green circuit, so it shares its fuse with indicators, brake lights, reverse lights, heater and possibly wipers, although some cars had an in-line fuse for those. Is this the fuse that’s blowing and, if so, why do you think the rev counter is blowing it? |

Would anything coil/dissy side cause this? |

Heater blower motor and wipers are on the separate fuse on my midget - and a radio (with it's own separate fuse) would also branch off from the separate fuse, if I had a radio fitted. |
