MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Seat belt bolts
Hello all hope everybody had a happy christmas. Spent some time over the festive period with the project sprite doing some odds and sods and discovering that when it was taken apart all those years ago I had'nt bagged up all the little bits as carefully as I should have and lost two of the seat belt securing bolts. Have tried a couple of suppliers but can only get them if a buy a new belt. Does anybody know which thread size I need to replace them with something off the shelf? If by some miracle some one had a couple lying around that were surplus to requirement I would gladly swap them for beer tokens. Mark "still doing those last few jobs" Adams |

Go to the scrapyard and get a couple from just about any car, they are mostly the same. A metro would be good I think. |

Bob. Would not our cars be UNF and the Metro Metric fine? Not sure, just asking. Bernie. |

sorry can't help with thread size other than it's fine and possibly 7/16"(?) I hope below helps you recognise which bolts, spacers and washers you might need |

Bernie The ones I have always got from the scrappies have all been UNF |
Robert (Bob) Midget Turbo |
Mark I have a tub of those; which ones do you need exactly? Chrome or plain, and which spacers etc? email midget1380 at btinternet dotcom |
David Smith |
They are 7/16" UNF. You should be able to get them off any car, not sure if recent cars have changed, but Minis, Metros etc all used the same. |

Thanks all, very good response as ever. Thanks especially David you will have mail a little later. mark |

David, Sorry to piggy back but I'm in the same position as Mark, having just removed a Britax harness and needing to put back the original Kangol belt. So I'm in the market for x3 bolts (1 Chrome) x3 wavy washers and x3 spacers. Any left or are you cleared out? Drop me a line if you are. simon at rickettsco dot com Many thanks, Si |
