MG Midget and Sprite Technical - show me your rear end!
Im playing around with ideas for my exhaust and i want to do some "photoshop" mock ups, but i dont have any decent pics of the rear, without bumpers. Mine is in peices awaiting a new rear clip! So, if you could post a pic of your rear end, ill post back a photoshoped version with my ideas!? |

nope, no problems. The axle doesn't drop far enough to hit it (even at full extension) and it is no closer to the ground under the axle than along the car. The pipework was brought in sections of 2" bore, the exhaust is actually: Frontline Y pipe to 2x 1m length (obviously one cut to length), then 30degree elbow under the axle to 90 degree elbow to silencer then 90 degree elbow to exit. all pieces spotted in place and then welded seal off the car. |

Here is mine. Like Will my exhaust is a self made job. I bought some fabricated bends and simply welded it altogether with a SS silencer across the rear. I am going to change the exhaust and not have a silencer across the back. I am going to install a smaller silencer in the space behind the axle to the side of the fuel tank. I think on my car this should be adequate silencing considering I have a turbo which tends to act as a silencer itself, but I would not like to try this with a high compression engine which by nature makes a lot more noise |

Here's BRB's rump, just after MOT at brother's garage west of Sheffield, close to where the car was first registered - all dry stone walls and country lanes. Looks like the young man is writing notes at the back of the pic. I'm going to re-do the exhaust - have several systems for son's 306 Rallye in stainless, with rear box identical to RC-40 that's currently fitted. Will fit new box higher and further forwards, to give the car a better balanced look. A |
