MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Silencer choice ?
I have bought a single box exhaust for my mildly-tuned 1098 midget Mk 2 restoration project, to suit the LCB exhaust manifold, but the silencer box is really heavy. Can anyone recommend a back box that isn't too loud and which is slimmer and lighter please ? Thanks. Myles |

I really like my RC40 back box (though I don't think it's very light). |

I also have an LCB and RC 40 silencer on my 1275 cc Frogeye. No problems |

Another vote for an LCB & RC40, makes a great sound even on a standard set up. Maniflow do a nice set and Magic Midget does a good price. |

I used a motorcycle silencer. Some photos here. http://opposite-locksmith.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/exhaust-from-jp-exhausts-macclesfield.html Very light, quite noisy, most are re packable, and quite cheap. Try to find a motorbike breakers. Magic midget can can also supply dedicated midget silencers as mentioned. |

A guy who races midgets once told me a Hayabusa silencer is a good choice. They are compact and light, and scraped ones are quite cheap on ebay from bikers who have come off! |
