MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Slave cylinder pushrod length type 9
Just fitted type 9 with a 7 1/2" clutch to my 1275,Does anyone have the correct lentgh for the pushrod for slave cylinder to get the clutch to engage correctly ,I have put a adjustable bolt on and no matter what lentgh i try it still clonks into gear. There does not seem any wear in clevis pins on slave or master cylinder..HELP....Iam desperate to try out my Peter May new Engine!!.. |

Have a look at wear in the pedal pivot bolt as well. I ended up going through the whole linkage to remove slop & welding a blob onto the slave cylinder push rod. |

Cheers for that Brad but there doesnt seem to be any wear in any of the linkage, maybe its a clutch problem. |

Rob, it probably isn't the clutch, took me ages to get mine to work properly, in the end it was just play through the whole system, the pedal pivot boly was the worse. |

I have just ordered new slave push rod and clevis pins (coming Fri)but I cant seem to find a new pedal, did you rebush yours or did you get a new one? I will give this a wirl, but there seems no play at all maybe a tiny fraction.Fingers crossed!! |

I've a feeling i reamed out the pedals & fitted a new bolt (i've lots), it was a while ago. |
