MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Start up.

It's been a long time since I have posted and a long time since I started my midget. Battery on, turn key, engine turns over, nothing! Clout fuel pump, click click click, fuel flowing, still no start. Plug out test - no spark and no spark from coil.

Whats it most likely to be folks? Connections, coil, other?

Help gratefully accepted.

All was working before.

Check for 12 volts at coil + to earth?
Check if points spark as the engine is turned over?

ETC ETC.
Robert (Bob) Midget Turbo

As Bob, also give the points a good clean and check clearance. Points have a habit of corroding a bit when the car is sat around.

Have you replaced the points? - it is easy to get the post insulating washer in the wrong place, then you get no spark!
