MG Midget and Sprite Technical - steering cowling screws
Hi can anyone tell me the thread size of the screws which hold the steering cowling/switch gear cover together on a 1978 1500 (UK model). They aint B.A i know that much. Thanks |

I can't remember whether the cowling is the same as earlier midgets, if it is I'm fairly sure they are UNC. Available from most suppliers part no RMP214 |

I thought they were 8-32 machine thread, but might well be metric as they are nearly the same size as the studs on the instruments. |

Possibly they are something as obscure as a British Cycle thread. I don't think they are 8-32. |

Moss list this thread as "no 6" and as above I'm fairly sure theat it's UNC. RMP214 is just under £1, or you could try RMP212, it is 1/8" shorter but only 20p! |
