MG Midget and Sprite Technical - steering nut size

Hello,
I just bought a 1966 MG midget for parts. the rust has taken over on this little jewel in the rough. I need to know the nut size that holds the steering wheel on. Thanks in advance for the info.

Mike,
On the 67 Midget I bought last May, I needed a 1 & 5/16" socket. Not finding any at the local stores, I purchased a 36 MM. It was a little loose, but it did the job. Is the horn push the bayonet style? If it is, you may have the same size as mine.

Thanks Joe, Yes it is the push bayenet size and is it rustd on there.Been putting liquid wrench on there all week. I was thinking of heating it cause the wire holder thing is broke in 1/2. I sure like the 67 and younger years

I know what Mikes next question will be.

How to get off the steering wheel when the nut is off and I would like to keep all my teeth:-)
