MG Midget and Sprite Technical - steering nut size
Hello, I just bought a 1966 MG midget for parts. the rust has taken over on this little jewel in the rough. I need to know the nut size that holds the steering wheel on. Thanks in advance for the info. Mike |

Mike, On the 67 Midget I bought last May, I needed a 1 & 5/16" socket. Not finding any at the local stores, I purchased a 36 MM. It was a little loose, but it did the job. Is the horn push the bayonet style? If it is, you may have the same size as mine. Joe |

Thanks Joe, Yes it is the push bayenet size and is it rustd on there.Been putting liquid wrench on there all week. I was thinking of heating it cause the wire holder thing is broke in 1/2. I sure like the 67 and younger years |

I know what Mikes next question will be. How to get off the steering wheel when the nut is off and I would like to keep all my teeth:-) |
