MG Midget and Sprite Technical - SU fuel pump in Bugeye
Hello all,--I am planning on going to a SU elec fuel pump when I swap out the 948 for a 1275 in my Bugeye. If I can find someone around here with a midget I can figure it out but right now I am wondering how it is installed in a Bugeye. Is there a hole in the boot with the pump half way outside and part way in the boot or is it all mounted under the car? Just planning ahead for a winter project of metal work.Bob C in Kansas,USA |

Norm - Good to see the vent tube going into the upper reaches of the car. I just got through inspecting two pumps had had never had the vent anywhere (no tubing on it at all) and both pumps have sever rust problems behind the diaphragm. With your permission, I would like to use your pictures in my upcoming article, fuel pump location (if I ever find time to write it). Cheers - Dave |
