MG Midget and Sprite Technical - T9 conversion speedo angle drive
I'm finishing my T9 conversion in my 79 midget and need an angle drive to hook up my speedo. Any one have a source and hopefully a part number? I understand this part is available in different ratios. Thanks, Bud |

Page 85 Err I mean it's a standard Caterham part and as far as I know they only come with a direct drive ratio. You'll need a hybrid of a hybrid cable for this unless Frontline do a special or the Caterham cable will fit (I'd have thought it would be on the short side). |

John Collins uses an angle drive which is alleged to be off (perhaps, maybe) a Jaguar I use a modified A series nylon thread which slots in to the Ford box's recess but has to have a special hole cut in the tunnel to allow the cable to fit sadly almost entirely useless for a left hooker as it feeds towards the RHD Drivers side floor |

I got mine off the shelf to fit straight in here: http://www.speedycables.com/contact.html Not too cheap but since it's made to measure it only takes 5mins to fit. You'll need to specify the length you want and whether your speedo has a push on or screw on fitting. The cable and angle drive should total about $100. Ratio was a direct 1:1 Post to the US for a cable shouldn't be too terrible. You can see mine fitted at the bottom of the web page here: http://www.tooke.org.uk/convert.htm |

I have a lhd 1975 midget(ex-USA) with T9 gearbox and have a 90 degree angle cabledrive. Mine was made by Speedograph Richfield www.speedograph-richfield.com Partnumber RGB1030 series angle drive(Small Ford 62 End). Ferrule partnumber E1331A The inner cable into my fordbox is 26mm the inner cable into (my)speedometer is 3mm. Cable lenght was 1.60mtr but can be ordered shorter +/- 1.50mtr Do contact them to make sure all itemnumbers all still correct. |

Bob, your web page won't open for me and I'm interested in seeing your photo to see if the Speedy Unit is the same as the Caterham. |

Here it the US you might try contacting PATC http://www.partshp.com/speedometer_gears.htm They have a several styles of angle drives and can probably hook you up with what you need. No affiliation, just found them surfing while I was looking for a speed sensor input for my FI unit on my Midget. |
