MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Thread size for gear lever

Does anyone know the thread size for the top of a 1500 gear lever. My gear knob has a nylon thread and it is now worn out. I have a few home turned wooden gear knobs which I wish to place a correct size nut in so I can screw the knob on.
