MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Timing Chain tensioner

My understanding is...The A+ added a timing chain tensioner for simplex timing chains.

However, The marina 1380 I'm stripping down has a tensioner and a duplex chain. What are the general thoughts...is it worth running with a tensioner on a duplex chain ? (or seeing as its there...cant do any harm can it?)
Dean Smith ('73 RWA)

My first response would be Dean, were there any A+ engines without a duplex chain, I would have thought not but not sure?
Bob England

Well yes...I thought the duplex chain was a 1275 non-A+ thing. Starting with the Cooper S and including midgets and Mini 1275 GTs.

The Simplex+Tensioner was used widely for the A+. Moss catalogue page shows the simplex + tensioner.

This link has "The standard A+ uses a simplex chain + tensioner"

What I cant find is a definitive source that lists whether the Marina and/or Ital used a tensioner etc. Hoped one of the guys who've taken a few ital etc units apart might know.
