MG Midget and Sprite Technical - timing cover with breather wanted
anyone got one of these kicking about in a box under your benches anywhere ??? Restoring an Innocenti Mini Cooper and apparently the engine runs a breather the same as a 1275 midget. |

They come up on Ebay quite often, and there are a couple of A+ on there now, if you don't mind the later cover. |

Hi Lawrence, I did look on Flea bay, and may have to go for the later cover eventually. At this stage I will see if I can come across the right one first. Appreciate your post though, cheers |

Don't forget that on the Mini the timing marks are above the pulley, so you may have to source both items. I have the Mini items on my Sprite -easier to check the timing! I suspect the later A+ covers are not compatible. |

Is this the right one? I posted a pic here a while ago and was told is was wrong for a Spridget but right for a Mini. Jonathan |

The pic looks like the A+ timing cover. I think it can fit but you need to drill and tap a hole in the front plate because one of the holes is in a different place. Rob |

it has a bulge to accomodate the timing chain tensioner, which Spridgets never had. Could be Marina/Ital or some flavours of Mini I think. As Rob said, can be used with a bit of fettling and different gasket. |

thanks guys, found one and ordered it no form Mini Mail. Apparently the Innocenti has the breather coming out of the front plate which stops the fan and breather potentially colliding, but with some spacing I am sure I can get round that issue. Thanks for the replies. this is the beastie ! |
