MG Midget and Sprite Technical - track rod ends

I have replaced my track rod ends during my re-build and the replacements foul the inside of the front wheels (which are now the 5 inch minilite replicas from Moss) I have spaced the wheels to get clearance. I gather that the original track rods do not foul the wheels, so can these still be bought or is it a question of shimming the steering arms and then using appropriate length bolts to make up for the corresponding thickness. . .anyone tried this ?

I had the same issue, had to put 3mm spacers between the steering arms and the stubaxle, and also 10mm wheels spacers, but then again my wheels definately werent made for midgets....
i have heard of other people having this problem to...
apparently you can grind back the new TRE to give clearance but i havent tried that yet....
Andy Phillips (frankenfrog)

shimming is the way to go then.
