MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Type 9 quickshift - replacing spherical bearing
The PO fitted a Ford Type 9 (Sierra) gearbox to my midget, together with a quickshift, at the same as installing a K series engine. When the gear lever started to rattle I replaced the saddle clip and, while doing so, realised that the spherical bearing in the quickshift had also worn badly. I replaced this with a polymer item from igus and was so pleased with the result that I wrote about it here: http://www.machinebuilding.net/ap/a1821.htm Jonathan |

Jonathan That's exactly like mine, which is worn. Have you got the exact part no. and do you ring them up to get a price, can't see from the website. Only just down the road in Northampton... Cheers Lloyd |

If you read the article it clearly states the part number as EGLM-20 |

Thanks Dominic - I hadn't thought of reading the article. How stupid of me. Actually, It isn't clear to me, after reading the article - and then following the link to the suppliers website in the article, exactly what the part number is, how to get a price for it, and how to order one. Which is why I was asking for a bit more info from Jonathan. Thanks for your useful comment though. |
