MG Midget and Sprite Technical - U-Bolt Torque
| Hello all, Replacing the rear spring bushings on the 1500 midget. I figured while I was in the neighborhood, I would loosen the U-Bolt and clean up around there. I occasionally get some interesting squeaks, etc upon taking off and going over bumps. I cannot find any spec for how tight the u-bolt nuts are supposed to be. Does anyone know? Thanks, in advance. | Clean up the threads really well , use new nuts , replace any u-bolts that are damaged or bent in the thread area use never-sieze on the threads and torque to 40'#. Load the springs (car on the ground and bounce) and retork. |
