MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Vacuum gauge query

Hi all,
I've got a vacuum / economy gauge lying about I want to fit onto my mk III 1275 midget.
Does it matter which carb I fit it to?
Cheers

On mine...I hooked it into the vacant screw on top of the intake manifold just left to the center between the carbs

I dont think you will get much useful info at the carbs...if your in front of the butter fly you will Need a sensitive vacume gauge...as it only pulls around 1/2 to 2 psi.('not sure what that is in bars)...and that will only tell whats in front of the butterfly...not behind it

It shouldn't matter, as long as it's connected to manifold vacuum not ported vacuum. (ported vacuum is the one that usually goes to the distributor, and doesn't behave the same as manifold vacuum)
Growler

Exactly growler

One thing I did... I found these vacume quick releases that have various female and male thread counts that can screw onto or into the intake manifold they can take several differant sizes of tubing

Im not sure what they are called but very common item at large 18 wheeler / transport lorries/ tractor trailer ..truck repair shops...there like $3 per piece, they work amazing, easy, and do a suburb job

There used for truck parts that rely on vacume... you can get tubing for them that are far better then the little cheapo nylon tube that comes in most vac gauge kits
