MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Water pipe
Hi, There is water pipe that runs from the radiator hose to the heater. There is also a hose that runs from the heater to the cylinder head. I have no heater so does the pipe just connect the radiator hose to the cylinder head? 1967 1275 midget |

Yes so I do in summer. Flip |

if you connect those together, then you are routing uncooled water back into the engine It is best to plug those two hoses, not connect them, to avoid causing overheating. If one wants to have water flow through that part of the head, route it to the upper hose instead (hot water entry into the radiator for cooling). Norm |

Thanks for the clarifcation. I like Norm's suggection - problem is the hose we would connect to is pretty short. I'll probably have to fabricate a tee fitting to splice in there. |

First off this is a vertical flow radiator- 1967. If I connect from the cylinder head to the upper hose (pump discharge) I will have flow to the head. If I connect from the head to the radiator I will have flow from the head. Looking at it again I realize I have a spare connection. I have a temp. gauge port on the engine and the radiator. |
