MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Weber IDA Manifold
Any EX racers out there got a Weber IDA inlet manifold for a 1275 tucked away that they would part with? Maniflow do a fabricated steel one but ideally would like an alloy one. Thanks Roy |

Roy Sorry, not got one. Sounds an intriguing project. What size IDA? Have you got a serious monster engine that needs a 48 carb? Neither Eurorocarb or Webcon seem to stock one (only Weber downdraft inlet manifold stocked for n midget is for a DMTL as well as for the side-draft DCOE). I remember a picture in one of the Spridget or hillclimb books of an IDA equipped Midget with the carb trumpets sticking out of the bonnet and notes about protruding into a low pressure area. The downdraft IDAs seem more popular in flat 4 and V8 configurations. Favourites of VW beetle tuners years ago I remember. Cheers Mike |

Hi Mike Have enough parts to think about a Frogeye build for hillclimbs and sprints. I have a 46IDA that I am thinking of using so thats what the manifold would be for. Must be one out there somewhere. Roy |

I used an IDA on my A35, as did many others. I had some 35mm chokes made for it, though. |
