MG Midget and Sprite Technical - what's the situation with leaf springs?
Hi all What's happening in the world of the leaf spring? Do we have a preferred source, and have we used all the duff Chinese weak ones yet? Thanks :-) |

I fitted some from Mosses 2years/9000 miles ago. They're holding up well with a ride height as good as the day they were fitted. I'm also running Spax adjustables on about 6 clicks from soft if that makes any difference. Ian |

For the record, I have stopped offering leaf springs. A few years back there was a real need for a quality product but, it was expensive. Now, the mass produced Indian springs seem to be better than they were. I also found it very hard to maintain a consistent level of quality from my UK suppliers. One off copies, no problem. One small batch OK, a second the same as the first, no. Now I just stick to this www.mad-suspension.co.uk |

Rob, all seems to have been well for a while now mine have been on for 4 years and seem fine I'm surprised you're not going to lower springs in which case Kim Dear at Magic midget is your man - http://magicmidget.co.uk/ here's a little something to add cheer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYEx42iYXc8 |

thanks all - that all sounds good. I hadn't thought about lower springs in the back, the only point it hits the floor now is where the exhaust goes under the rear axle. I think I must have got the last of the slightly duff ones, as the drivers side one is an S and the passenger one is flat. Hard setoff results in hitting the bumpstop... |
