MG Midget and Sprite Technical - wheel refurb
has anyone refurbed midget wheels ? the previous owners have just went wild with a can of silver spray paint and they are all rusty now, idiots. what would be the best method ( cheapest ) to get these wheels back to the way they were when they came out of the factory in 1975? cheerz lads |

wires or Rostyles? |

I did mine quite straight forward. Wet & dry, wire brush to get rid of rust and old paint then respray with rattle cans. I got a masking kit from MGOC for my rostyles but would just use masking tape next time round and shape it with a craft knife. If the tyres are still on use an old pack of cards wedged in between tyre and rim to mask it. With care you can do a perfectly presentable job, I think MGOC will do exchange wheels for perfectionists. |
