MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Which bias needles
Good afternoon gentlemen Regarding a 1275 with HS2 carburettors. I wonder which bias needles you guys run with stock engines with stock or LCB manifold. Jan |

Hi, Interesting topic... I have K&N filters installed by PO : does it mean he should have change the needle for it ? Does it bring something, or it is just "fine tuning" ? |

Cedric,
the needles would probably have been changed with the installation of the K&N filters. Generally stub stacks are also fitted inside the filters and richer needles used but there can be many variances as to which needles are fitted to any engine set up. More air, more petrol, more bang, more go - if all combined and set up correctly. You can't successfully proceed to fine tuning without the basic tuning of regular service, maintenance and repair with regular use of the car over reasonable length journeys. You can't fine tune until you have already tuned. |
