If you are worried about the tube collapsing you can pour some molten lead into it, bend it and melt the lead out. I have used this method when bending copper pipes and it works well. Jan T |

I've used close fitting flexible plastic rod before, well greased, and no problem removing it with the aid of twisting even with 180 degree bends. I have some Cerrobend alloy but haven't yet felt like melting the new ingots yet, Cerrobend melts at less than the boiling point of water. Cerrobend or lead, the advice with Cerrobend is to coat the inside of the tube with oil to prevent it sticking when removed. |

Surely you put the rack through the tube and bend it? The rack should stop it kinking. I expect you over bend it then bend it back slightly to stop the rack binding in the tube. Rob |

With difficulty or a small pipe bender is my answer to your question. I have found small bore copper central heating pipe is friendly to use and will least at least a decade if not two. The other alternative is small bore aluminium pipe which can be a bit more difficult to work with. As jobs on the Sprite/Midget go, this is one of the less fun ones. |

The Moss catalogue shows that part as being for all 1500 cars with it already bent. Part number BHA4618, which differs from the one in your picture which looks like BHA4638 or 9, difficult to see. I notice that yours says Back order, so does the other one. Bernie. |
