MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Wire Wheel Hubs

Hi,
I have just returned to midget ownership after a gap of 15 years or so. I have purchased a 72 wire wheel model that needed a little work to get it roadworthy again for my kids to run around in until they get their own cars.
I have been lurking around the forum for a few months now. Thanks for keeping me amused during my lunch breaks.
I have now become a member as I would like some help, if you would be so kind (I am sure you will be as you seem to be a nice bunch).
I am half way through replacing the brake disks and need some tips on getting the hubs off. They are different to my old steel wheeled car. Is it just a case of pulling the dust covers using the threaded stud and then I presume there will be a castlated nut to remove in the Splined tube? It looks a little tricky. Any tips?

I have just got my answer from Seth's 'Getting the hubs off thread'.
Should have looked there first.

On one side my grease cup was really really stuck. I tried all kinds of home made puller ideas and then gave in and bought an over priced puller (that you could make).

Here is a dark picture that shows how I was able to easily pull it out using a piece of wood with a notch and a piece of metal stock:

After removing it:

Then tweak out the cotter pin going through the castle nut, remove the nut and pull off the hub/disk. I thought I was going to need to make some kind of puller to do that but it turned out to be reasonably easy to pull it off (the book shows a special puller).

I had to grind down a socket in order to remove the bolts that hold on the disks:

Thanks for the tips Rebecca. I plan to sort the brakes at the weekend. I will let you know how it goes.
Is that your garage in the pictures? I wish I had a facility like that (and the vehicles too).
One day, my Midget may look as smart as yours.

It is 10 times easier to just cut the evil tangled cotter pin with some wire cutters rather than try to get it to untangle.
after 30 minutes of messing with that the cutters came out, 5 minutes later the hub was off.
