MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Wire Wheel offsets

Since the subject is avoided in the archives and no one has specified the actual offsets...

What are the offsets for
midget 13x4.5J, MGB 14" and Spitfire 13" wires?

Thanks, Ron.

Strange question to ask and I am wondering why you are asking it.

Unlike steel wheels which are an obvious offset, wire wheels are a little bit more vague, to me anyway Do we measure from the top of the cone, bottom of the cone or perhaps the inner spoke mounting piece, wish I knew?

What I do know however is that even with a big offset towards the hub the knock on alloy minilites I have for my wire wheeled car still do not get near the spring and could actually go further inboard and would then possibly clear the square arch, I wish!!

This is the reason I have shortened my axle.

BTW spit wheels wont fit.

the splines are shorter, so they can't be tightened....but they do make nice hose reels.

Seem to remember reading something in recent days about measuring offsets etc for wire wheels in the latest edition of the Midget/Sprite High Performance Manual - Daniel Stapleton. Lots of info that I never realised that I wanted to know.
