MG Midget and Sprite Technical - wiring for courtesy light...

first of many dumb questions as i complete the wiring clean up of my '73 midget:

what wires are supposed to go to the switch in the driver's door? the harness has an offshoot for it which have the wire for the buzzer (which i think is purple/green... but i'm at work and it is at home) and a solid purple wire. is the purple wire to the courtesy light? is there supposed to be a purple/white wire for the courtesy light? that is more consistant with what I remember...

I am using an aftermarket switch because the original fell apart in my hands when i tried to make it work. the new switch has a single female bullet connection, so I know i will have to make an apaptor to fit it to the two spade connectors from the harness and possibly a bullet for the purple/white wire if it turns out i need one. (I cannot find what i did with the original switch to double check how it was connected)

is that confusing enough?

thanks for help!

I don't know about the buzzer...we don't have them on this side of the pond.

UK wiring is:-

Purple - live feed to the light.
Black - ground, so the light can be turned on with the switch
Purple/white - to the door switch
