MG Midget and Sprite Technical - wolseley rear brakes
Hi all, Ive aquired some 8" wolseley rear brakes, i need to put new seals in them, how do you get the piston out. If i have to renew the cylinder can I use any others i.e mk1 midget or morris 1000 ones. Any help welcome, Cheers Phil |

I've always replaced the slave complete but I think you'll find that once you'e removed the pin and the handbrake linkage the piston should come out ok. If it doesn't come out ok the bore is probably corroded and you might want to think about a new one anyway. I think you'll find new seals listed on ebay. Finally, don't forget to to make sure the brake bias is such the (now larger) rear brakes don't lock the rears first. |
