MG Midget and Sprite Technical - zetec Midget
Hi Some timne ago I seem to recall someone fitting a Zetec engine into a midget. I am about to do the same so would appreciate any technical help with what needs to be removed from the gearbox tunnel etc to allow the engine fitment. If anyone can remember the website that carried the fitment process with photographs I would appreciate it. Thanks Richard |

Here is another http://www.britishv8.org/Other/RichardBondy.htm (this one uses a Type-9) again, stateside. |

Richard, I have the same plan. darren tyre has done one. You'll need to take some out of the chassis rails to allow the bellhousing/starter to sit low enough. I beleive Darren added extra box section to the underneath. Gearbox should be as for type 9 or k series (I am going for the shortened tailhousing as I think with a zetec we'll e starting around 1 furher back then most others. Keep us posted wih your progress - work is slowing me down at the moment ( and driving it while the weather was good!) David |
