MG MGA - 14' Minilites
Will 14" minilites fit a disc brake MGA, or will there be clearance issues with the calipers? Mark |

That's a qualified "Maybe", and I ain't guarantee'n nuttin. I don't have the answer, but I can offer some foundation information. A friend has installed a set of MGB RO-Style 14" wheels on his MGA 1600-MK-II with disc brakes. I think it was close fit with the steering arms and tie rod ends, but he was driving it. I don't know if he may have switched to MGB steering arms. There were four different steering arms useed in MGA, two on the 1500's one for the Twin Cam, and one for the 1600's. They have slightly different angle and locate the outer tie rod ball end in different position. The disc brake parts do fit with the drum brake arms, but the disc brake arms might not fit with the drum brake setup. The 14" Minilite repro wheels are not the same as 14" RO-Styles, so it's only speculation until someone might actually try it. |

Hmm... Might need to "borrow" someone's wheel at the next show. |
