MG MGA - A couple of thingsA couple of things

Over the years I've worked very hard to help my friends here on the MG board resolve issues they may have had with Moss Motors or parts from Moss. It wasn't part of my job description, I did it to improve the service you all got from Moss and to work toward resolving quality issues with the parts from Moss. I must now tell all of you that I am no longer at Moss, having resigned my position there last month. I decided it was time to move on and I'm starting a new business (not car related) with a friend. Believe me, this is a scary proposition at age 56! Kelvin Dodd is still there, and will still work with all of you if you have questions or problems.

This brings up the second thing. Someone has posted at least one rather rude and less than polite response in a thread using my name and one of the email addresses I use. I don't know what childish motivation they have, and I hope they don't continue. They have posted as a "non-member". I will only post here as a member, with a linked email address as shown above.

I still have my TD and will continue to participate in the hobby and be active on this board.

Hi Craig. I am sorry to hear that you have left Moss Motors, but wish you every success in your new venture. Cheers, Glenn

I second Glen's comments, and hope no one abuses your name on the board again. I think most of us who have dealt with you over the years know better than to believe you could come up with such trash.

Craig. It is very obvious that you were no longer working at Moss. It was quite obvious from the way the orders were handled. Kelvin was able to straighten out one of them. However, your expertise and your ability to keep things moving well, and provide great customer service, will be sorely missed.

Good luck in the new venture and, please, keep us informed.

Craig,
Good luck in your new business. I am the same age, and having started one business, I wouldn't want to do it again at our age. However, if it were a choice between working for someone else or spending all the hours it takes to get a new business going I know I would do it again.

Having done customer support for my own business I can only imagine the headaches of customer service when you are the middle man between owners and customers. I know you will be much happier with your own business. Also, I am sure that anyone who has seen your posts will not confuse you with some spoofer who has misappropriated your name.

Good luck again.

Should your...friend.. raise his less than respectable neck here again, you may always contact the webmaster and have him removed. I have spoken with the webmaster on several occasions and I can assure you that he does not accept intolerable behavior. As an independent retail merchant I can only say ...welcome to the club and God have mercy on your soul!!!! LOL lots of good luck. Gordon

Craig,

Best wishes on your new venture. We all hope the future holds great things for you.

I've always found that the "quiet" experience around me is amazing when called on. I'd suggest you may benefit from that same type of experience on this board. Many of us have owned/ran/developed businesses already. Some are probably still active in it. Cash flow questions, advertising, cost per customer,write-offs etc. Please let us know what you're doing and if any of us can add to your working knowledge base.

Or give you a good character recomendation.

Sorry to see that you left, you gave me a great deal on my parts for my 1959 MGA in 2003 while I was deployed to Afghanistan, now several tours later to Iraq my car is still not together, I did manage to get all the body work done and frame painted, engine built and tranny built, just no time to finish. Thanks for everything that you did! You will be missed.
