MG MGA - Actual carb float level?
I know about how to set the float level according to the book but where should the level be in the main jet? I can see the level and it is about 1/8" down the main jet. Should it be at the top of the main jet but not spilling over? The reason I ask is that the engine has a hesitation at initial throttle opening but then seems to run fine. I am wondering if the float level is incorrect. Thanks and have a good day! John |

What you have should be fine, I would not go any higher. You may want to check for vacuum leaks and worn throttle shafts that may be leaning it out a little just off idle but are too small to affect performance at wider throttle openings. |

Have you checked there is oil in the dashpots? The dashpots enrich the mixture when the throttle is initially opened by dampening the movement of the piston assembly. |
