MG MGA - Anti run on valve
Has anyone installed an anti run-on valve? I would appreciate any technical assistance in where these are installed etc. Also, where can I purchase a suitable valve...the MGOC in UK used to carry these as a stock item, but they have been unable to get more supplies. |

They are fitted to most Triumph saloons and you can pick them up for close to no cost from what are called car wrecking yards in Australia (car parting in the US). I will send some scans of how they are fitted on Triumphs, but I am not sure how they are fitted on MG's without a oil pressure sensor switch. They apply engine vacuum to the SU bowls when the engine ignition is turned off, starving the engine of fuel, and are then deactivated when the oil pressure drops to zero, ready for the next engine start. I guess that someone can explain how they work on MG's. Mick |

Thanks Barney. I am no MGB expert, but Gary may find that the Australian built MGB's are very different from the US spec cars, specially in the area of emission fittings. Many Triumph saloons are at present ending their life in the wreckers (parting out) yards, but I have never seen an MGB suffering a similar fate, they are far too valuable. Mick |

Mick - They work the same way on the MGBs. Cheers - Dave |
