MG MGA - Anyone for the Ace Cafe?

An admission: I've been chatting on other boards! ... After a short promiscuous moment on the midget and Sprite board, I was invited to join some other regular contributors at the monthly Ace Cafe Classic car meeting in London on Tuesday night.

What a great evening! An amazing selection of classics of all ages and conditions, and a really mellow, friendly atmosphere ... and a few racers doing tyre-burning tricks in the road just for entertainment. If you are anywhere near London on the second Tuesday of the month, you should go.

However, although there were plenty of MGs on Tuesday, there were no other As.

If there's anyone in London who would like to come along next time - the 13th of June - it would be great to have a bit of an MGA presence - I can promise you won't be disappointed by the other cars on show either (everything from a gorgeous Facel Vega to a genuine D Type Jag).

Sounds fun. What time to people start to gather?

Starts at about 6 pm and goes on to about 10 o'clock ... If the weather's good, the car park fills up by about 7, but there's plenty of other space in the road. Mail me if you're thinking of going - let's see if we can rustle up a few others.

Richard,

Where is the Ace Cafe?

It's on the old North Circular Road, between the M1 and M40 junctions, North side. See www.ace-cafe-london.com This site gives map direction and (horrors!) by public transport.

Sorry, make that the A40 junction, not M40

Coming from the Hanger Lane Giratory, join the North Circular and then take the first sliproad exit. Turn left and immediately right at the top and it's about 100 metres along on the left.

A visit from Ontario would be impressive!

Richard, no such luck. Used to live in N. London before '69 and travelled the NCR frequently on 2 wheels. ('59 Matchless 600 twin).
