MG MGA - Anyone got an extra $32,500?
No I'm not an agent for these guys, I just like going to their site because they always have nice stuff and thought you might like to see. Check out the Twin Cam. Drool! http://fantasyjunction.com/used-cars.php?id=bde90c10bebcaa4a7e6f608ecbe9c307 |

Nice car. But for the price they could have painted the engine, used the correct cam cover nuts, stock air cleaners, recovered the dash in the correct material without wrinkles, and taken out the non-stock holes when they did it, found the correct master cylinder, spare tire cover, rear shocks.......... |

Bill - talk about me being picky, did you notice the long carbs, H6's in fact. You are correct about the rest, it would probably be $40,000 with the 'right parts'. Terry |

I'm with you Bill, nice car but, if I were to spend that kind of money on it, in addition to the items you have pointed out, I would want door seals and an air intake hose for my heater/ventilation system. That would probably raise the price above 40K! Clayton |

Oh you're right about the dash. A bit weak. As for the carbs- I'm not a twin cam expert, but didn't they come with H6's? |

What is that untidy tubing in front of the engine in pictures 24 and 25? If it is for vacuum advance it is badly located, and the factory instructed all BMC dealers to remove the vacuum advance at the first oppourtunity. mga twin cams do not have vacuum advance. Mick |

Not a bad car frankly. A few buck later and 10 hours of labor and I'd have this puppy looking like a champ. There are much more important aspects to a Twin. Mainly the internal condition of the engine, I would think. brakes, etc can be tough $$ too. It pulls great compression and looks pretty sharp overall. Yes, the carbs are original. Think about it guys--in a way we're all in agreement--if you offered this fellow 30K and put a little love into it, you say it would be worth 40K. I agree. Not a bad return on investment. |

Not to mention the rusty screws and dirty cover on the relay box and flasher and the hose clamps.I guess you can't compare apples to oranges but in March, Sussex Sports Cars had a TC coupe restored by Bob West for 21,995 Pounds. Front licence plate says YDA 160. Can any of our fellow posters fill us in on this car? If only I could win the lottery! Gary |

Gary, YDA 160 is still on their site. http://www.sussexsportscars.co.uk/picture.php?stock_id=402&picnum=1 Cheers <MARK> |

Mark-I think it's been sold tho-it's under the sold section and now does not have a description or price. Gary |

Well, someone just snapped it up. Bidding has ended! This one is a potential gem needing only an experienced MGer to address the minor issues. (hopefully minor!) |
