MG MGA - AP Caparo M/C

Hi All
I have read all the threads regarding binding front discs and it seems that the M/C I fitted a few years ago was a TRW. Trying to find a replacement AP Caparo m/c. Can anyone point me in the direction of a supplier in the UK.
Thanks Brian

I'm not sure which makes, with all the changes of ownership, but I have these in my bookmarks.

IIRC Mike (MGB) always recommends these guys - http://www.pastparts.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=68_272

and/or(?) these - https://www.powertrackbrakes.co.uk/

And there's these - http://www.coastings.co.uk/

Hi All
Got a new AP Caparo from Bob West and fitted. Brakes not binding now. Great. Only problem now is getting a good clutch. Tried for 2 days but not fully working as should. Not sure whether to bleed or try reverse pumping again.
Any quick fix ideas would be appreciated.

Good news about the brakes.

I assume you are getting fluid down and through the clutch slave, and it’s just a case of expelling unwelcome air.
Is it a new slave cylinder? To fit in the box, the bleed nipple is sometimes temporarily fitted at the end, rather than the side.
Assuming that’s all ok, I found this helpful

That's a good simple video, I've not seen it before.

Graham,
usually following the hyperlink address with carriage return (to get your cursor on the line below it) will make the address a live direct hyperlink.

Many apologies that didn't work, wonder why.

Doh! of course, doh! https: // bit was missing, and I missed that. Try again, pretend you didn't see my previous bit.

Hi

I bought an AP Caparo one from Powertrack Ltd, https://www.powertrackbrakes.co.uk/ worth noting AP Caparo is now ‘920 engineering’ so if recently made this is what a genuine Lockheed one will be labelled as, if a few years old ‘AP Caparo’.

Might want to buy and fit an AP Caparo/920 Engineering slave cylinder at the same time. And try Powertrack for one too.

Best wishes

Hi Mike
Thanks for your information. I will make a record for future use. I have fitted a new m/c and bled the clutch with an ezibleed kit. So back on the road again Covid permitting.
