MG MGA - Are piston rings specific to piston brand/source?
I broke a ring on the first piston this morning. Looks like I will have to buy a set to get one! Expensive mistake!! I see that there are some sets available on Ebay but I guess that they may or may not fit my Moss pistons. Is that correct? Does anyone have a left-over partial set from Moss (or same make, which I do not know) they would like to part with? Thanks everyone, John Bissett Lexington, VA |

Some shops have open stock on rings if given the specs. Contact you local hot rod shops. |

I should have included details, in case anyone has leftovers to sell: 1600 engine, over-bored by .020. The ring measures .062 in. / 1.58 mm thick. It is plain flat except for a bevel on the top inside. Thanks Bill, for your suggestion. I'll have to look around for a hot rod shop. Thanks, John |

John, reach out to Hap at Acme Speed in SC. He builds engines, races and sells components for MG & TR; he may be able to provide what you need. https://www.acmespeedshop.com/ |

Thanks Nick, I was impatient and order a new set from Jeff Zorn. This was I know that giving him the Moss part number they will fit my Moss sourced pistons. The lazy approach! John |
