MG MGA - Badge Bars

There are (at least) two styles of badge bars that I've seen fpr the MGA. One is the tubular type that is available through Moss and other major repo distributors. This is a one piece type that only mounts to the over rider locations on the bumper.

The other style is a three piece unit that has a solid cross bar and two heavy chromed mounts that bolt to the over riders and the underside of the car. This type is far heavier and more crash resistant than the first type.

Which type (if either) was originally offered by the factory? Does anyone know the origins of the styles, if not factory?

I have never seen either style in a restoration volume and Clausager does not list it as an option.

Thanks,

The first one you mention is the factory original. The one that is much stronger is a aftermarket made by Ammco. The made a lot of different accessories such a floor mats, wind wings, side wind wings, ect.

In the past there have been more types of badge bars. I've put a few of them on my website:

I'll try to update this page with more accessories during the next few days

Thanks for the info...

The badge bar on Rutger's site made by Multi-Products looks suspiciously like it would be more comfortable on an E-type. The MG mitten Sonic Shield looks like a hoot (or should I say, "toot").
