MG MGA - Brake pipe routing

I am about to fit the new brake pipes to my A roadster and it occurred to me that somewhere in the past I had seen a rough drawing of the pipe routed through a tubing of some sort... Has anyone out there information on this and what kind of material is best for the pipe routing? Thanks. Clive....
