MG MGA - Brakes to the left

Guys,

When I hit the brakes, the car veers left slightly. How do I fix it?

The right side brakes may be stuck (not working). There may be fluids of some sort on the lining on the left, causing the brakes to grab on that side. Gotta just look inside. Keep us informed of your progress.

Rich - Take your car out on a gravel road and at about 10 - 15 mph stand on the brakes. Get out where the car stops and look at the skid marks for all for wheels. At least one of them will start sooner or later than the rest or maybe no skid mark at all. That will tell you which corner has the problem. Then you can get to work. Good luck - Dave

Rich, You didn't say if your car is a 1500 or 1600. If it's a 1500, it could be something as simple as the brake shoes out of adjustment. If you have a 1600 it could be a seized caliper or as simple as a bad hose. Sometimes a hose wil deteriorate on the inside. It will have like a flap of material inside that won't let the fluid go where it should. The caliper will either not work or it will keep the fluid from returning when you let off the pedal and the caliper will stick. You say it veers sightly so I would think it's more likely just out of adjustment (if it's a 1500).
Good luck, John
