MG MGA - Clonk from rear end...?
Hi all On a 1959 1500 I seem to have a clonk from behind me - which sounds like the rear end/suspension(?) when I drive over a bump or a pothole. Of the obvious causes, I've emptied the trunk/boot and have a very secure exhaust pipe, but still can't trace the problem. Does anyone have any ideas? Regards Eddy |

Damper link rubber bushes would be my first port of call. Next that dampers are bolted tight. After that rubber bushes in rear springs and shackle pins aren't worn. All four U Bolts are tight and the spring pads haven't fallen apart. Failing all that, and the most hassle to fix, that the metalastic bushes in the front of the rear springs are still in good nick. Best of luck! |

Peter Thanks for this, I'll have a look at all these options. Best regards Eddy |
